Measured Building Survey & StoreView®
The Natural History Museum in London needed to gain a better understanding of the commodities located within the retail space in their grand and historical building. The Head of Retail approached CADS to request measured laser surveys of the museum’s three permanent gift shops and storage areas to identify configurations and product categories.
Night at the museum
Due to high visitor volumes, the CADS surveying team performed laser scan surveys to scan the retail areas at night while the museum was closed to the public. This meant team images of visitors were excluded from the scan data and photography the surveyors captured. The team completed the work in just one evening

The laser scan survey also captured the retail space to create a StoreView® virtual tour of the Museum’s shops :

The Cranbourne tour
The Head of Retail used these StoreView®s to share the shop plans with colleagues off-site.
